Talk show at the Irmler Racing stand
Fans of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) won't want to miss this: On Saturday, 4 February at 1:30 pm the Irmler Racing stand (6C03, Hall 6) will host a talk show with stars of the racing scene. The audience can expect fascinating stories and anecdotes from the early days of the DTM. The guests on stage will include company owner Steffan Irmler, former DTM pilot and former Opel Head of Racing Volker Strycek as well as Stefan Kissling, the son of Opel tuner Helmut Kissling and himself a former professional racer. Also on the panel will be Klaus Peter Thaler, who gained fame as a cross racer, and his son Christian Thaler. Today Christian is an ambitious amateur racer. He rides the Opel Omega A which Helmut Kissling raced in the late 80s for the Kissling Motorsport team. The moderator and journalist Carsten Krome will be in charge of the talk show. The Irmler Racing stand will display a full-size replica of the Opel Kadett E which was fitted with a 2-litre 16V engine in 1988. To this day, Volker Strycek and Steffen Irmler still ride this vehicle in classic circuit races. Naturally, visitors will be able to ask questions about the DTM and the racing vehicles of the day.
