The Beatles or The Stones, Werder Bremen or Hamburger SV, Adidas or Puma: passion-fuelled rivalries are everywhere. And that includes the automotive world, where some contests are legendary.
In Germany’s economic miracle years, both the luxury roadster Mercedes-Benz 300 SL and the BMW 507 each claimed the “dream car” title. In the 70s, it was the Ford Capri and Opel Manta that fought for pole position on the roads, disco car parks and junctions. Then, a good decade later, the high-tech masterpiece Porsche 959 and the Spartan Ferrari F40 played off against each other in the top car charts.
At the upcoming Bremen Classic Motorshow, visitors can look forward to face-to-face confrontations between seven famous pairs of classic competitors. From 31 January to 2 February 2020, the opponents from car history will come together for a showdown in the “Rivals” special show in Hall 5.
