C-class turns 30: Historical successes in the DTM
The Mercedes C-class has been a success story since 1993. Especially the estate car version built exclusively in the Mercedes Benz plant in Bremen continues to be a common sight on the roads. Next year, the entire range from the saloon to the coupe to the estate "Made in Bremen" is celebrating its 30th birthday. In January, the first C-class models with an H registration number will hit the road. The sales figures for the C-class are only one measure of its success. The C-class racing cars were also extremely successful. In the history of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM), these tuned Mercedes models are the most successful of all time. An AMG with a V6 engine, pneumatic valve control and 450 hp under the bonnet will be on show at the Bremen Classic Motorshow 2023 on the stand of the Mercedes-Benz Bremen plant in Hall 5. In the 1995 racing season, Jan van Ommen drove this vehicle to second place in the DTM. Today, it is owned by a collector in Oldenburg and regularly entered in the Tourenwagen Legenden races.
